Pots for verandahs
A verandah has a roof, so it gets less sun and less rain than the garden. Choose plants that cope with part shade, and plan to water by hand.

Put a pair beside the chair
Square pots with a softly curved edge sit neatly against a wall or beside a seat.
Kingston comes in three sizes, 27, 37 and 47 cm high, each as wide as it is tall. A cordyline and a dianella both cope with the part shade under a verandah roof.

Line the edge with a row
A row of matching pots along the verandah edge leads the eye down its length.
Savannah is a straight-sided round pot in four sizes from 25 cm to 47 cm high. Clipped westringia and lavender keep the row neat, but they need the sunny edge, not the back wall.
